Lucknow, April 21: The Basic Education director Pratap Singh Baghel has given instructions to change the school timings from Tuesday in view of the rising temperature across the state.

In the instructions sent to all the Divisional Assistant Basic Education Directors (AD Basic), it has been said that classes in Basic Education Council schools will now be from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, while prayer meetings and yoga practice will be held from 7:30 am to 7:40 am.

He has said that the mid-day break will be from 10 am to 10:15 am. Currently, the timings of these schools are from 8 am to 2 pm. The timings of all council schools have changed from Tuesday. However, in many districts, including Varanasi, basic education officials have already changed the timings due to the intense heat.

The Basic Education Director further stated that council teachers, Shiksha Mitra (teachers), instructors, and non-teaching staff will be in school from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm. During this time, they will perform academic, administrative, and other tasks. The Basic Education Director stated that the management committee for recognized schools will be authorized to make necessary decisions. It is noteworthy that the state is experiencing intense heat, and the Meteorological Department has predicted a heat wave in several districts.
