Two arrested for killing wild boar in Lakhimpur Kheri

Lakhimpur Kheri, April 21: Two people have been arrested for attacking and killing a wild boar in the Bhira Forest Range. The Forest Department has recovered the spear used in the attack at the location of the accused.

According to the forest officials, a wild boar strayed into Palanpur village, however, some villagers attacked it and seriously injured it. Upon receiving information, a forest department team arrived at the scene and the injured boar was being taken for treatment, but it died on the way. Doctors later conducted a post-mortem on the deceased boar.

Bhira Forest Range Area Officer VP Singh stated that the incident was reported to the competent authorities. Following their instructions, an investigation was initiated, following which some suspects were identified.

He told that based on the investigation, Lal Bahadur was arrested near the village on Monday evening and Sarwan on Tuesday morning. The spear used in the attack was also recovered at the accused’s location. Both accused have been presented in court. The Forest Department is taking further legal action in this matter.
