BJP already preparing for opposition role, says Akhilesh Yadav
Lucknow, April 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a march to corner the Indi-Alliance, including the Congress party over opposing the Women Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha, the Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a verbal counter-attack against the BJP in a press conference.
Ahead of the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and amid the increasing heat, the political temperature in the state is rising. The war of words between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying.
Addressing reporters at the party headquarters in Lucknow, the state capital, SP President Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the BJP’s march that morning. Akhilesh said he heard a march was taking place in Lucknow, and no one was wearing sunglasses in such extreme heat. He said this is practice, hoping to stage similar protests in the opposition.
The SP president said that we socialists have always been in favor of women’s reservation. If anyone wants to stop reservation, it is the Bharatiya Janata Party. We will not allow their ill intentions to succeed. They do not want to provide rights, privileges, and reservations, so they quietly wanted to achieve the deletion under the guise of women’s reservation.
Yadav added that when the demand for a caste census arises, the issue of rights, privileges, and reservations will arise. That is why the Bharatiya Janata Party does not want to conduct the census.
He said that the BJP will lose the upcoming 2027 elections and will never return.
He took a dig at the BJP government’s name changes, saying that those who used to change others’ names changed their own names before leaving Bengal.
Akhilesh said that for the first time in history, a community is going to defeat a party, and that community’s name is the PDA. In the coming times, the PDA will form a government to establish social justice.
He blamed the BJP government for the increasing commercialization of education. He said that if a Samajwadi government is formed, primary education will be improved and the commercialization of education will be curbed.
Leaders from other parties joined the party in large numbers.
In the presence of Akhilesh Yadav, leaders from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) took membership of the party.
During the press conference, the SP president said that today is a historic day because a large number of people are joining the Samajwadi Party. By joining the struggle of PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority), you all are working to make us stronger. Akhilesh also gave the responsibility of spokesperson to MH Khan, who came from BSP, in the party. He said that now you will present our side (SP) on TV.
